As a Billing Specialist with a Customer Service background, you will play a crucial role in our company's finance department.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely billing for our customers while providing excellent customer service and addressing any billing-related inquiries or issues.
This position requires a strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and a customer-centric approach.
Responsibilities:
Generate and process accurate and timely invoices for customers using billing software or systems.
Review billing information and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Identify and resolve billing discrepancies or errors, and work closely with internal departments to rectify any issues.
Respond to customer inquiries and provide exceptional customer service regarding billing-related questions, concerns, or disputes.
Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to address billing inquiries and resolve any customer issues.
Maintain accurate customer records, update billing information, and ensure data integrity.
Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on outstanding payments, and coordinate with the collections team when necessary.
Assist in month-end closing activities, including generating financial reports, reconciling billing data, and preparing billing-related journal entries.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to billing and customer service.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven work experience as a Billing Specialist or in a similar role, preferably in a customer service-oriented environment.
Strong understanding of billing processes, invoicing procedures, and basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in using billing software or systems (e.
g.
, QuickBooks) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex billing issues to customers in a clear and concise manner.
Outstanding attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service orientation and a proactive approach to resolving customer issues.
